My IP and what it gives away
The address your browsing exits from, the city and network operator behind it, and whether that network is residential or a datacenter — resolved inside our own server, without sending your IP to anyone.

One honest exception: your public IP is not something the page uploads — it is the connection itself. Every server on the internet already sees it the moment a page loads. What matters is what happens next: city, network operator and network type are resolved against databases sitting on our own server disk. No lookup ever leaves this machine, your address is never handed to a third party, never logged, never stored and never turned into a metric.
What your IP actually gives away
Your public IP is the address your connection leaves through. It is not something the page collects: it is the connection itself. Every server in the world already sees it the moment a page starts loading — which is why it is the first signal any risk system looks at.
The address on its own reveals far less than people assume. Country and rough city come from databases maintained by third parties, not from the number. What the address really carries is the block it belongs to — and the owner of that block is what tells the story.
Residential, datacenter, mobile
Every address block belongs to an autonomous system (an ASN), which is the network of a carrier, a hosting provider or a company. When a site cross-references your IP against that, it does not learn who you are: it learns what kind of network you are speaking from.
- Residential — a home internet carrier block. It is the most common traffic profile and the one that draws the least attention.
- Datacenter — a server provider block. Nobody browses from home through a datacenter, so traffic coming from one starts in a higher suspicion band on a good share of sites, even when everything else is perfect.
- Mobile — a mobile carrier block, almost always with many subscribers sharing one address through CGNAT. That makes the address less identifiable and, at the same time, more shared.
Choosing between them is a cost and risk decision, not a matter of taste. It is broken down in residential, datacenter and mobile proxies.
Headers that give the proxy away
A clean address is worthless if the request itself announces the intermediary. Headers such as Via, Forwarded and X-Forwarded-For, when they come from your side, tell the site for free that there is a proxy in the path. A proxy set up for anonymous browsing does not do that; a corporate, transparent or misconfigured one does it constantly.
Worth noting: seeing those headers on arrival is normal when a CDN sits between you and the server — the CDN adds them itself, and that is how the origin learns your address. What matters is what you send, not what the destination infrastructure appends.
How many accounts per address
The expensive mistake is usually not the type of IP. It is density: several accounts leaving through the same address, at the same hours, with the same usage pattern. From the detection side that is trivial to cluster, and no amount of fingerprint work undoes the cluster. The IP is only half of it
A spotless address with an incoherent browser solves nothing, and the reverse is equally true. Both sides get checked together: the browser time zone against the country of the address, the language against the region, WebRTC against the browsing route.
